Household Support Certification Program
I've spent over a decade in the household support industry, and I've watched incredible household assistants, family assistants, and managers walk into interviews with nothing to show for their work but a reference or two coupled with a CPR Certification. We need more ways to advocate for ourselves and have a paper to back our confidence in this space.
This program changes that. It's a five-tier certification you work through at your own pace, so you can prove what you know and ask to be paid for it.
Why it exists
Babysitters used to be the high schooler down the street making $8 an hour on a Friday night.
The people running homes today are managing calendars, grocery runs, laundry, pets, kids, vendors, and the awkward conversations in between. Nurses have licenses. Teachers have certifications. Household support has had word of mouth.
I built the certification I wished my team had. This is the first certification of its kind, and it's built from what I've seen actually hold up inside real homes.
I want you to walk into your next interview, or your next conversation about a raise, with confidence and something real that vouches for you.
Your skills, written down and verified, instead of living only in a family's memory.
You'll know exactly what you bring to a home, and you'll be able to say it out loud.
A certification gives you something concrete to point to when you're negotiating your pay.
How it works
You move up one tier at a time, on your schedule. What to expect:
Fill out the sign-up form. I'll ask about your experience, two references, and why you want to be certified, so your learning fits your why.
There are five tiers, and each one builds on the last. Nobody is rushing you. Go as fast or as slow as your life allows.
Some tiers include third-party pieces, like a background report or CPR. Those are paid out of pocket and done on your own time (I'll tell you up front, no surprises).
Put it on your resume. Bring it to your next interview. Bring it to your next review.
Who it's for
Household assistants, family assistants, and household managers, wherever you are in your career.
You want to get certified before you jump in, so your first family knows you're serious from day one.
You've kept homes running for a long time and you're tired of your experience being invisible on paper. You're not asking for too much!
You're ready to move from assistant to manager, or to take on a bigger home, and you want a clear path to get there.
You know your worth. Now you'll have something to back it up when the pay conversation comes around (let's be honest, usually the hardest part).
Straight answers
Nope! If you're just getting started and want to be certified before you jump in, this is for you.
There will be a gracious deadline on some checkpoints, but you move through the five tiers on your own schedule. Some of the partner certifications have their own deadlines once you start them, and I'll point those out as you go.
Yes, and I want to be up front about it. Some tiers include third-party certifications, like background reports, driving records, and CPR. You pay for those out of pocket and complete them on your own time before moving to the next tier.
Once you sign up, I'll walk you through the tiers and what each one covers. Every tier builds on the one before it. The entirety of the program includes all aspects of the home: childcare, animal care, chores, errands, building relationship, and more!
Fill out the sign-up form. Use the email you plan to keep for the whole program, because it has to match for any third-party certifications.
Your first step
Signing up takes a few minutes. Tell me about your experience and why you want to be certified, and I'll take it from there.
